Privacy policy
Effective 2026-10-19
This document changes on 2026-10-26 (adding the request board). See the new full text below.
1. Purposes
1) Sign-up and login 2) Saving members' stories, publication requests, and showing the creator's nickname 3) Handling reports and inquiries 4) Blocking abnormal requests (rate limiting) 5) Service statistics (starts and completions per story — not who watched). We process data only for these purposes.
2. Data and retention
Members: Google account ID, email, nickname, time and version of terms consent — until you leave (deleted immediately). Members' stories: drafts, save history, publication requests — unpublished ones are deleted when you leave; published stories remain with the creator shown as 'Former member'. Reports and inquiries: content and (optional) contact — contact 90 days after handling, content 1 year after handling. Rate limiting: a daily-changing transform of your IP address (the IP itself is not stored) — about 1 day. Operation records: the changing member's ID and the change (no nickname) — 1 year. Access logs: IP address, browser information, request time — generated by our host (Vercel) under its retention.
3. Sharing with third parties
We do not provide your personal information to third parties, except when required by law.
4. Processors
Vercel Inc.: web hosting, server execution, access logs. Supabase Pte. Ltd. (Singapore): database and login.
5. International transfer
Because these processors are foreign companies, personal information is transferred abroad. 1) Vercel Inc. (USA, privacy@vercel.com) — the US and countries where Vercel operates (server functions run in Seoul); access logs and data sent while using the service. 2) Supabase (privacy@supabase.com) — data stored in the Republic of Korea (Seoul), company in Singapore; member, story, report, and operation records. Data is sent over the network while you use the service and deleted when processing ends or the retention period above passes. If you do not want this, you can choose not to sign up or leave; you then cannot use features that require login (making stories).
6. Deletion
When the retention period ends or the purpose is met, we delete data without delay so that it cannot be recovered. Daily database backups remain for up to 7 days before being overwritten.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, or stop processing your personal information at any time. Change your nickname or leave in 'My account'; for other requests use 'Contact' or the address below — we reply within 10 days. You may act through a representative, including a legal guardian.
8. Children under 14
Children under 14 may not sign up. If we learn that one has, we delete that account's personal information without delay.
9. Security measures
Encryption in transit (HTTPS), row-level access control and restricted operator screens, server-only secret keys, change records, and daily backups.
10. Cookies and browser storage
We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in; continue-watching data stays in this browser's local storage and is not sent to us. When a video plays, the YouTube player may use Google cookies and device information. You can block cookies in your browser, but then login features will not work. We show no ads and use no advertising identifiers.
11. Services we use
MULTALE uses YouTube API Services. Videos play in the YouTube player, under Google's Privacy Policy. When you sign in with Google, Google shares your account ID and email with us.
12. Privacy officer
MULTALE operator · afterthejump.project@gmail.com
